I have been seeing a lot of posts on a new class of agonists that work on a
specific set of receptors.
I know that none of us are neurologists, but I am hoping that some one knows
a little bit more than I do on this subject.
As you may know, my P.D. is sort of a pseudo-Parkinson's in that only the
receptors are damaged, those in the globus pallidus, to be specific. Permax
has worked for me, for about three weeks. Then all of a sudden, it started to
make me worse, to the point where I could barely speak or move. All of that
went away immediately after discontinuing.
What I would like to know is, what receptors does this new class of agonists
work on, D1 or D2, or both. Also, what do you think made Pergolide stop
having beneficial effects on me, and do you think this new agonist might
present the same problems, or do you think it may help me?
