Barb, I was born in Terre Haute, Indiana and never was I taught anything about the origin of "Hoosier" other than it was a derivative of the "Who's there?" question when someone comes to the door. Barb, you encyclopedia/dictionary must have been assembled in Oregon! I have not been keeping count, but I believe all of those who are native born "hoosiers" have replied with the same definition of the word. Why can't you believe that we know our own folklore? And what in the heck does any of this have to do with Parkinson's? Rita
