John, I am trying to find an answer for a problem my father is having.
You seem to be especially good with finding information on the net, so I
have chosen you. If anyone else has the information we would be grateful
for any suggestions. In addition to having PD, and LOW blood pressure,
and a history of heart disease, and now a pacemaker for 10 years, he has
had surgery to remove cancer from his eyelid. The lid was reconstructed,
the eye saved, radiation was performed about a year ago, also. the
problem is that the eye is painful, which Tylenol capsuls helps. But the
Tylenol has side effects such as liver damage and urinary retention. The
normal dose is every 4 hours, but he asks for it as often as every hour.
My mother does not want him to have it that often, as she fears he will
end up back in the hospital with a catheter, etc. We are seeking a
painkiller that is safer than Tylenol, without those side effects. Or
hopefully ANY side effects, of course! Anyone who has suggestions, please
reply. I know there must be something!he tried a patch type pain
medication, but it made him confused and violent, which is very hard on a
caregiver, as well as the patient. BTW he is 79 years old, and is on
Sinamet, Tagamet, eyedrops, and gets B12 shots periodically. Thanks in
advance for any help.
