Brenda, Unfortunately, my first experience with sinemet was similar to yours. I wonder why your doctor started you on such a high dose of sinemet. I began with regular sinemet (10/100's) and was quite ill for the first week. I was determined to stick it out, though, and after the first few days things got better. I found out later that I might have avoided that reaction if I had started on 25/100's. The extra carbidopa keeps the heaving down. I've been taking sinemet for 11 and a half years, and now take the CR 25/100's. If you can find another neuro who will give you a prescription for a reduced dose, that should help. Unlike the regular sinemet tablets, though, the CR's can't be divided without losing the controlled release feature. However, that's another possibility for you. The longer you struggle with this disease, the more you will come to realize that reactions to medication vary greatly with each individual and that you need to take the responsibility of doing what works best for you. I'm kind of down on doctors these days, having recently had several negative experiences with them. I'd be really angry with your doctor for prescribing such a powerful medication and then leaving on vacation with no one for your to turn to with your problems - and he had to know you'd have problems. All I can say is it's not his body, so he doesn't really care. I found out too late that it wasn't necessary for me to suffer the way I did when I first started sinemet. Keep looking for someone to help you. Good luck Pat Schark pine`
