Greetings:

Following is a summary showing the number(693) of people whose names and
addresses (to varying degrees of completeness) have been compiled from
Barbara Schirloff's Udall postcard list, Jim Cordy's list of people who were
active advocates and who are ready to "do battle again", and the list of
people who responded to the letter I sent in December asking for their home
state and zip code(351).

I am reposting the letter separately so that people who had not yet responded
can do so. I ask that you respond directly to me, rather than to the group. If
you know the name of your representative and/or your congressional district
number, please send that along with your state and zip.

It was heartening to receive the many positive comments that accompanied the
responses. There were many offers of help -- be assured that your offers are
not being ignored. As soon as an organized agenda emerges, information will be
disseminated and specific actions will be listed.

At this moment help is needed with the following:
1/ zip codes need to be converted to congressional district numbers. I have
been using the website: http://ast1.spa.umn.edu/juan/congress/ziptoit.html
If you have time to sit & punch in zipcode numbers, please let me know and
I'll send you a list.
2/ research is needed on each of the newly elected politician. Since there is
no voting record to check, contact needs to be made to "feel-out" their
position on dedicated funding for PD research.
3/ the summary of respondents by state shows that we have no known
representation in: Delaware, Idaho, Mississippi, South Dakota, and West
Virginia. There is only one response from Louisiana, eventhough there are 7
congressional districts. Could it be that these are the HEALTHIEST
environments? If you have family or friends in these states could you submit
their names, email addresses, snail mail addresses?
4/ those of you who belong to support groups: would you be able to act as the
liason between your group and PAN? Information posted on this listserv needs
to reach as many people as possible. If you would submit the name of the
leader of your group and the address of your group, PAN could send copies of
their Advisories directly and information would reach more people in a timely
manner.

Hope to hear from MANY of you!
