I'm new to the list thanks to my kids who got me up and running as a Christmas present! Many of you will recognize the name of Sidney Dorros as you may have read his classic book: Parkinson's: A Patient's View. Sid died suddenly and unexpectedly on 22 July 1993 from megacolon. He would have loved being on this list and I am sure he would have sent many messages. In particular, he would have identified with all of you who have been forced into early disability retirement. It happened to him at age 48 but he decided to "take a lemon and make lemonade" by devoting the rest of his life to helping others cope. He did it well and was a great role model. Over our more than ten years of travelling and speaking to support groups in the US, Canada, and England we may have met many of you. If so, I'd love to hear from you. That goes for those of you we have not met, as well. All the best, Donna Dorros, CG to Sid, 68/30 (dec.1993), Gaithersburg, MD [log in to unmask] "Accommodate Without Surrender" /**********************************************************/ /* DDorros */ /* [log in to unmask] */ /* */ /* Sent from Capital City Cyberlink */ /**********************************************************/
