I think that among family members, there are some who do not take the time to understand what Parkinson's is all about, but adult children, at least in our family, have a very clear understanding of the disease and how it affects their parents. My sister once told mom, "Any of your kids would spend any amount of money or time it takes to make you comfortable" There is no thrill like coming up with an idea or gadget that will help mom with her problems. We have done it a number of times, and will continue to do it as long as we can help. Mom has never held back in communicating what she needs or thinks she needs, and this is usually helpful. We know, because we want to know, and because she has never , from the beginning of our lives held back from communicating with us. Parkinson's is just the latest and longest subject we have ever discussed. Karen Cook [log in to unmask]
