Ron, your part of the most wonderful group of people from all over the world
who has (have had the exact feeling you have. Some of us have come to the
realization that we "caught" this sucking disease and we have to rely on our
dr's to determine our future comfort. Others are fortunate enuf to have both
good neuros PLUS supporting families. Others havent (will never) accepted
their fate.
It took me ten years to come to the realization and "accept" it. It
happended the day that my husband wanted to go to the movies (cinema for our
foreign family) but I couldnt because I had problem walking and I was
embarrassed. My family was angry and told me that "we also share your pain"
but your holding us all back from our lives. They pointed out all the
handicapped parking places, people with crutches or wheelchairs and then it
hit me!!!! Why was I punishing myself and them.
The next day I bought a wheelchair and my life living (with PD) began.
I am fortunate not to need it all the time but we take it with us just in
case. I have no problem with using it....this is my life and I want to live
it completely.
