I have a little 3 x 5 orange card (which folds) from the American Parkinson's Disease Assoc., which lists DRUGS CONTRAINDICATED FOR PARKINSONS'S DISEASE PATIENTS. I carry it in my wallet and consult it when a doctor talks about prescribing a drug for Dave. The 800 # to call is 1-800-223-2732 and ask them to send it to you. Even our family doctor admitted he was not up on which drugs were contraindicated. You've got to be informed and your own advocate. In Dave's recent hospitalization, (triggered by Zyprexa which is supposed acceptable but which was Dave's undoing), the hospital physician wanted to stop ALL medications - including his Parkinsons sinemet & Permax. I screamed at him (on New Year's Eve, no less) "You can't do that! He''ll turn to stone! Or maybe stop breathing!" He restored the meds. Naomi Meyer CG for Dave 69/24
