Marling, I didn't think gout still existed in the modern times, until I came
down with it.  My case was due to incorrect diet and inadequate fluid
(water) intake. I tried a homeopathic remedy, extract of black cherry,
available in most health food stores.  That, plus 6-8 glasses of water a
day, worked.  I have not had gout for a year.  When I did have it, the pain
in my second toe, next to my big toe, was unbearable when I moved my foot!
