Joao Paulo..... We were just being silly by using partial bits of real words - hapless, and feckless. There ARE no such words as "haps and fecks.." We just twisted around the language to suit the moment. And a "gorm" is a total figment of Margie's mind! (Kinda makes a person wonder what OTHER figments are wandering 'round in her head, huh?) <grin> In other words, what were saying was total and utter nonsense!! <giggle> I have this mental image of you cussing away in Portuguese as you wildly attack your trusty Webster's trying to find the meaning of "Haps, fecks, and gorms," and as it got later and later into the night, picking up the dictionary and with a frustrated scream, throwing it at the monitor! Then, with a horrified look on your face as smoke comes pouring out of the monitor, you say to yourself, "OH MY GOD! What HAVE I done?!!!!" For those who might think such idiocy is not related to Parkinson's Disease and thus doesn't belong in here in this PD-specific list, I'd like to take a moment and point out that while something like the exchange we're referring to isn't directly about PD itself, such moments as we had in our little play on words, WAS and IS of benefit to those Parkies that participated in it, as well as to many who chose to read it. It provided us with mental stimulation which as the disease progresses, we definitely need. Plus since it had originated from the depths of a sleepless nite, it created comfort, and solace and a bond between persons who otherwise were alone with their thoughts and fears in the dark of nite. And it's often at such moments that one becomes depressed because of the disease so this helped to distract us from possible depression. By taking part in a silly, irreverent, and laughable exchange with others who suffer form PD, for the duration of the of the correspondence we're managed not only have a little fun and share a few laughs with our wordplay, but to also adhere to the famous premise brought forth by Dr. Norman Cousins that laughter is a WONDERFUL medicine, and actually has healing properties. Personally, I'd rather LAUGH my way to feeling better then Sinemeting my way to feeling better. By doing that, one gets the same benefit and there's no on/off problem! I rest my case..
