In a week or so my wife, who is 63 years old and has had Parkinsons for
some 19 years, will undergo major abdominal surgery, requiring a hospital
stay of at least four days. She is in generally good health (45 minutes
walking on a treadmill daily, many hours a day making jewelry, chief
Parkinson symptoms being tremor and dyskinesia). We are concerned with her
Parkinsons medications while in the hospital and whether pre-operative
preparation and post-surgery care will be attentive to any particular
problems related to her Parkinsons. Does anyone have advice for us? (If you
don't think your reply would be of general interest to members of this
list, please reply directly to me at our "from" address.) Thanks.
