For JTR's Mother

At five I went outside to play.
The neighbors stared then ran away.
I played.

At ten the chair and I went round the block.
The neighbors stared and asked "walk?"
I walked.

At 20 though they all said "not!",
I set about to "tie the knot".
I was caught.

At 30 as others said "all done",
I had only just begun.
What fun!

Now PD has made a mess of me.
And I may live on bended knee.
But inside I will not stay, you see.
I Am Free!

You too can live life my friend,
though stares and whispers lay round the bend.
Inside's the courage to begin.
Just one small step and then, you'll win!
