Hello everyone,

I am a little slow in responding to the list but better late than never.

There is a brand new drug on the market for Alzhiemers called Aricept.
It is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. Which means it will raise the
level of acetylcholine in the brain. It seems to enhance the memory to a
small degree in studies done so far.

I have some reservations on whether or not it will work in PD cases, but
a leading PD specialist in Detroit ( DR. Peter LeWitt) has prescibed it
in one case that I know of right now. I will wait to see how that turns
out, and let you know. Some of the side effects listed are :

muscle weakness
muscle cramps
fasiculations
diarrhea
nausea
vomiting
headache
dizziness

Hope this helps.
