Michelle; From my reading and research, the Carbidopa in our Sinemet takes
care
of small  amounts of B-6, just as it does small amounts of protein, by
keeping the
levodopa intact until it gets across the brain barrier where it triggers
dopamine formation.
B-6 and protein being amino acidic in nature rival levadopa  in the race
across the brain barrier before being attacked by digestive components.
That's loosely explained as I see it.  Anyone to elucidate?
