My mom recently came home from a rehab center after being in and out of
hospital since middle of November and even in a nursing home for several
weeks. Her original reason for being hospitalized was a fall which shattered
her shoulder.

Anxiety has always been a probelm with my Mom but at this point it is beyond
control and she almost never and I mean never sleeps. At the most she sleeps
for an hour or two. We are at our wits end. She wrings her hands and bites
her lip and we have begged the neorulogist and all the other physicians at
Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's in Chicago treating her to have some compassion
for her and her caregivers with a prescription for something that would help
with the anxiety and let her rest. My feeling is that if you were ananxious
person before PD then you will be with it and more so.

My mom was on Paxil and Prozac and is now on something that is experimental
but is normally used for chemo patients as an anti-nausea drug. It is $20 a
pill and I really don't see that is doing anything and am tired of my mom
being a guinea pig.

Any suggestions?
