Hi Fred Schneyer <[log in to unmask]>, you wrote >Hi kind and wise list people: >My mom, 68 1/2, diagnosed 14 yrs, got challenged the other day at her bank >because her signature on a check was so shaky. Should we just change >banks? I went to my bank and asked them whether, since my handwriting and signatures are becoming a bit erratic, I could use a thumbprint for cheques (sorry, checks). Well, this threw them completely, and they said they would have to ask Head Office. When they rang me a week later, they said that Head Office had said "No, if he's not competent to sign checks, he must give someone power of attorney"! Well, I'm starting a campaign, because (at the moment) there's nothing wrong with my mind, and I'm da**ed if I want someone else with power over my affairs. I have had a couple of ideas: 1. I have had my handwriting turned into a computer font, so I can type my letters in my own writing! 2. I have scanned in my signature, so it now comes onto my page anytime I type the letters JBSIG using the Wod 6 Autocorrect feature. Anyone else got any ideas about this? -- Jeremy Browne - [log in to unmask] Shaking Hands BBS - +44 (0)1252 626233 - Fidonet 2:252/160
