Hi,
I am a new member to this list. My mother who is 75 was diagnosed with
Parkinson's disease aout 6 months ago. She has had symptoms for almost 15
years. Now that I have read more about it, I don't understand why the
doctors didn't diagnose it sooner. At least 10 years ago she started having
problems moving her leg properly when walking. It would tend to not lift
high enough and she would slide it. The doctors ran every test imaginable
and couldn't understand what was wrong with it. Then this year she started
having tremors. Now they finally figured it out.
THey now have her on levadopa but she is having a lot of trouble staying
stable. SHe tends to get very anxious an hour before she should take her
medicine. SHe lost about 50 lbs in the past year due to nausea.
I am very interested in any knowlege about a possible patch. THis sounds
like a wonderful option that would help with the highs and lows experience
with this medication.
Does anyone have any information about when this might be availabe or if it
is possible to be part of a test case.

I just noticed the letter about Schizoprenia. My youngest brother is
schizoprenic. I had no idea that this also had a connection with dopamine.

Thanks and best wishes to you all.
