Staley.... I don't know whether it's the PD or the Sinemet, but for the past few years, after having PD for 21 years, I've been able to fall into a doze in the mid-evening while sitting on the sofa and talking with friends, or at the dinner table, or behind the steering wheel. I'm better able to control this tho, by recognizing that between 4 and 7 pm is my "doze time" and if I lie down and rest (don't even hafta sleep.. just rest) for an hour and a half at about 3:30-ish, I can keep going for hours. By the way, I'd watch out for that Art Hirsch if I were you, 'cause I heard he's REALLY Jimmy Hoffa and is on the Witness Protection Plan. <grinning, ducking & running> Barb Mallut [log in to unmask] ---------- From: Parkinson's Information Exchange on behalf of Betty Mims Sent: Tuesday, March 18, 1997 4:18 PM To: Multiple recipients of list PARKINSN Subject: introducing myself Hi My name is Staley Mims. I am a 64 yr.old retired civil engineer who was diagnosed with PD 2 1/2 yrs. ago, but realize now that I had it for several years.I have more rigidity that tremor, while taking Senimet. I am having trouble keepin awake long enough to eatr my lunch after taking Senimet about 9:00 a.m.,(one tablet, CR50/200.) Does anyone else have this problem? I take 2 of these tablets daily,1/2 tablet after lunch and 1/2 tablet after dinner, in addition to the one I take in the morning. my fellow D.A.P.S.(Dallas Area Parkisonism Society) member, J. Arthur Hirsch, gave all of us members information about the Parkinsn Listserv for which I am thankful. My wife, Betty, and I have been married 44 years and have 5 children and 9 grandchildren. I look forward to hearing from some of you and learning from you. Staley Mims [log in to unmask]
