Hang in there Sara   sounds like your dad is a wonderful grandfather and
those people in ER & the medical field in generaljust don't u/stand.
They only see "clinically" not as we do.  I was diagnosed in Dec l994 @
age 63 and if I hadn't taken over my medical care & researched etc  I
don't know where I would be. My HMO family doctor is much more help to
me than my neurologist - he doesn't believe that my exercises w/
personal trainer are the reason I'm doing so well - he just wants to
prescribe pills.  So, stick w/ your dad and enjoy life.
