The reason you should not chew or crush time-release (tr) or continuous-release (cr) tablets, is because the tablet is designed to release the medication at a constant rate. This rate is a function of the surface area of the tablet. Chewing greatly increases the surface area available to release the medicine. You must have been taking the equivalent of a single dose instantly to the gut. I'm glad you are seeing a substantial improvement; it should continue. Ron C. 63/9dx
