Sincerely Director RAPS Golf Club 15906 Meadowside Drive Houston, Texas 77062 (281) 486-7925 SOMERSET WORLD PARKINSON "HOME COURSE" GOLF TOURNAMENT 1997 INFORMATION AND RULES OF PLAY ENTRY I. You must play two nine hole rounds between April 1 and May 20, 1997 on the course of your choice to qualify for World Tournament Awards. 2. There is no entry fee, however you will need to pay your green fee to the course of your choice. COURSE SET UP 1. Play on a regulation PGA approved course. Your course will consist of 7 par 3's of 140 yards for men and 130 yards for women; one par 4 of 250 yards for men and 230 yards for women and, one par 5 of 350 yards for men and 320 yards for women. 2. Set up on the par 3's is not difficult. Most golf courses have markers at 150 yards to the green. Just step off 10 paces (men) or 20 paces (women) on each par 3. 3. Now the par 4. Many courses have a 250 yard marker on the par 5 holes which can be used as the starting point for the par 4 hole. Men should hit from this marker and ladies from 20 yards forward from the marker. If there is no 250 yard marker men should hit from 100 yards back from the 1 50 yard marker and ladies 80 yards back from the 150 yard marker. 4. Lastly, the par 5. You will probably find at least one hole on the course that measures very close to the 350 yards (men) or 320 yards (women) required and just a few paces back or forward will put you exactly where you need to be. EXAMPLE: Hole 6 measures 335 yards from the red tee markers. Men would take 1 5 paces back from the marker while women would take 15 paces forward. NOTE: The Golf Professional at your preferred course may assist you in setting up your course. Page 1.
