We visited the Mayo clinic for the second time last October. The movement
specialist told us that Don (63/12) was under-medicated and upped his
Simemet CR(50/200). He was taking 1 1/2 every four hours and now is taking
2 every four hours. He always takes one at bedtime or shortly thereafter.
Luckily he has never had any side effects of the medication. The doctor
decreased the Eldeyprl to one a day from the two he was taking. We had
always been so careful to take the Simemet either one hour before or one
hour after eating. The doctor said that with the CR that wasn't necessary.
Sure made our life less complicated!! Years ago a doctor prescibed another
drug, Artane, but after reading all the side effects decided against it.
That's all we are doing except numerous herbs etc. He told us that he is
still in stage 2 of the disease. Our insurance man has had us start the
procedure to see if we can have the premiums waviered. That would be a
great help. Even though Don puts in full days on our ranch, he cannot do
near as much of what he used to do and it is getting worse all the time.
Love this PD list. Nancy B (Gee there are a lot of Nancy's on the list.)
