I don't know about THOSE sticks, but I make my own. I make a thumbstick,
sucj as hikers use, about the length so that it comes halfway up my bicep
from the ground.

I find it very supportive, without looking so very "disabled"! It's a bit more
macho than your typical curved walking stick!
