"Battling Parkinson's" is the banner headline on the front page of the
Shawnee Mission neighborhood section of the Saturday, April 19, 1997 Kansas
City Star.
T'ai chi and its benefits to PDers was one feature story secured by one of
our dynamo support group facilitators, Ruth Kittrell, and highlighting
Virginia Packet of Overland Park who has been practicing t'ai chi for a year.
There is to be an hour-long session at 1:30 pm at the Village Presbyterian
Church 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village.

The second feature was on "Merriam woman lobbying for bill to boost money for
research" discusses the Udall bill. Outside of a curious misquote at the end
which states the reason the bill is receiving support is because PD research
is a "blank spot" rather than what I said a "bright spot" the story provides
a brief overview of the bill. The reporter also translated the PD listserve
to "surfing the internet."

A third story on the Walk-A-Thon appears inside the section on page 6.
