Dear Kees (and everybody else on the List),

Are we having a walkathon? You bet we are!

I see that Robin Elliott of PDF already responded to you. (Thanks for the
kind words, Robin.)

This will be the 4th Annual Parkinson's Unity Walk. It will take place on
Saturday, September 27, in Central Park. We are very happy about this
location, because it is a high-traffic area, so we'll be seen by a lot of
people.

We are hoping to attract 1,000 walkers and raise $150,000 for research. These
are very ambitious goals, but we have some terrific volunteers working with
us. Of course, we can always use more people. We invite everyone reading this
to join us as a volunteer, walker, team leader and/or contributor. Just send
me an e-mail ([log in to unmask]) or call (212) 580-6505.

A number of celebrities will be joining us (husband-and-wife actors Eli
Wallach and Anne Jackson; editor-in-chief of the New York Daily News, Pete
Hamill; and Donna Hanover, TV personality, actress and wife of New York
City's mayor.)

We'll be publicizing the Walk at street fairs, health fairs, and with a
television spot.

As Robin mentioned, the funds raised will benefit all the major PD
organizations. We also want to point out that every cent donated by walkers
and their sponsors will be sent to the PD foundations to further research.

We'll post more details as time goes on.
