Has anyone else had a diagnosis of "frozen shoulder"? My sister was diagnosed as having a frozen shoulder this Jan. 1996 and received Physical Therapy for her pain and limited movement. After 6 months of PT she was not much better, in fact she seemed to have more difficulty with her arm and hand. She was diagnosed as probable PWP in Aug.97 but was told that the"frozen shoulder" was a separate problem. Of course when a major joint like a shoulder is involved, other parts of connecting anatomy become involved ie: her right arm has become progressively weak, she protects that arm and limits it's movement, she has some difficulty holding a pen and writing, and she has pain in her neck. An orthopedic surgeon has examined her and xrays were normal. Her neurogist did an MRI of her cervical spine and it was normal. She had EMG muscle test wich showed minor problems but nothing to explain the amount of symptoms she experiences. My question is ...is this familiar to anyone? ...Is a frozen shoulder a symptom of Parkinsons? Does anyone know any sucessful treatments for frozen shoulder?
