Following on the correspondence initiated by Allan Goldman, I have found that messages above a certain size (c.30k) are sent as attached files and when I call them up on my Compuserve browser I can't edit or copy them. However I have recently found that Compuserve downloads them into a directory (or folder as they now call them) C:\cserve\download\, from which they can be opened in Word and chopped about at will.
