Rick: I have no suggestion for your teenage diction problem, but it
reminds me of a story a friend told me recently. His 16 year old son,
deeply into a punk phase, was about to leave the house in his "new" torn
black leather jacket on the back of which he had written "FUCK SOCIETY"
in liquid paper. My friend launched into a mild sermon, apparently, on
the nihilism of punk culture, the undifferentiate critique of society,
the need for solidarity and action against those in society responsible
for various ills, etc. His son agreed and went back to his room, only to
emerge moments later with "FUCK YOU" on the back of his jacket. Good
luck with your teenagers.
