We've recently received a notice (and a copy) of a beautifully-produced new book entitled _Thomas Arden of Faversham: The Man behind the Myth_, by Patricia Hyde (an historian rather than a drama type). The book is published by the Faversham Society, and said to be for readers intersted in Elizabethan drama, the dissolution of the monasteries, 16th century trade, and the history of Kent. It looks fascinating and is copiously illustrated. Well worth a look, I think. [Insert the usual disclaimer of commericial interests here! Neither I nor REED have any connection with the Faversham Society; it just looks like an interesting book which fills a real gap] Abigail Records of Early English Drama/ Victoria College/ 150 Charles Street W Toronto Ontario Canada Phone (416) 585-4504/FAX (416) [log in to unmask] http://www.chass.utoronto.ca/~reed/reed.html => REED's home page http://www.chass.utoronto.ca/~reed/reed-l.html => REED-L's home page http://www.chass.utoronto.ca/~reed/stage.html => our theatre resource page http://www.chass.utoronto.ca/~reed/archive.html => library & archives page
