Dennis.. I don't know who originally said the following, but it's commonly called the "Serenity Prayer," and is perhaps best known as the credo for the various "12 Step Programs" which have helped so many individuals recover from various forms of dependency, whether alcohol, over-eating, co-dependency, etc. There are several stanzas of the Serenity Prayer, but the one that seems to impact folks the most is: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference. Hi Billy, I too like to go with the flow, and walk with the wind at my back. But sometimes I can't. Was it St Francis who said: Give me the strength to change the things I can change, The serenity to accept the things I cannot change, And the wisdom to know the difference. Perhaps the world is divided into two kinds of people - those with the wisdom to know the difference and those without.
