Hi Barbara

Thank you for your welcome message. I'm new in the group and would like to
introduce myself to everybody.

My name is Cl=E1udia. I'm 33 years old. I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and
work with computers (system analyst).

My disease started when I was 18 years old. At that time I went to more
then 30 doctors here in Rio de Janeiro and, at last, I got a wrong
diagnoses. At that time, I was very bad, with difficulty to do simple
thinks like dressing. I couldn't work any more. Fortunately, some years
later I met a doctor and he said that I had Dopa Responsive Dystonia (
Segawa Disease ) and I should take levodopa. That was like a miracle. I
took it and a couple hours later I could walk normally again, take care of
my kids ( I have 2 children - 6 and 5 years old) and be independent. I'll
never forget that day, the emotion that I felt. I started to have normal
life again.
As time went by, levodopa didn't work as well as it used to and the disease
started to show some signs that made my doctor ask me to go to New York to
see Dr Paul Greene and Dr Nyggard. Dr Nyggard was styding Dopa Responsive
Dystonia and my doctor wasn't sure any more if I have DRD or Juvenile
Parkinson. Dr Nyggard and Dr Paul Greene were positive that I'm a JPD case.
I started to take pergolide and I got well again.=20

I'd like to share information and experience with all the group, but
especially I'd like to know if there is any case of juvenile Parkinson that
started so early as mine ( first syntoms at 18 years old ).=20

Nice talk to you all and sorry about my English
