Dear "Disabled" Golfers,
I'm not a golfer but I do play one on T.V. and I got to thinking one
recent spring morning and thought ......wouldn't it be great to be out
there on the links with my golfing buddies wacking viciously at a little
ball with a big club. Sounds great doesn't it?.......Naa...so I lay down
until the feeling passed.
But remarkibly enough I still have a couple of friends who love the
game but due to their Parkinsons they are feeling forced to the sidelines.
Edie can play no more then 9 holes and I do believe that Ted has given it
up all together. And so I said to myself, what a wonderful idea for a
support group. You all could share your stories much like fishermen/women
do {"Damn!! the ball was headed into the cup when a fox ran up and stole
the damn ball. Damn" ],or you could give tips to one another[ "I think you
should use your # 73 wood on this hole"]. The list is endless and would be
so much easier to manage than say a weight control/weight management group
[and you know who you are, right?]
Now there are at least 2 ways to go about this. one is to drop a note to
this list and let your brothers and sisters know of your wishes to chat it
up in support of one another. Nice and informal.
Or for those of you who need a little more support could write to me and
confess your golfing obsessions and I would say something like "Damn!! the
ball was headed into the cup when a fox ran up and stole the damn ball.
Damn" and you would feel great. Then we could figure out how to join a
support group for PD golfers
Some of you may think that I'm joking but I think there is a need and a
benifit so why not do a support group via e-mail? Although you got to
wonder about adults walking around with a big stick in order to strike a
little ball.Good GOD!
   Your Caddy
