My #1 priority in participating in this list service is to advance the cause for a PD cure. Christopher Reeve speaks of research for a cure to spinal cord injuries as being his #1 priority, while others with similar injuries believe the focus should be on adaptation and rehabilition. It is frustrating to me when I expend my energy on the priority I have chosen, only to feel that this is not the primary focus of this list. I recognize the importance of social exchange, sharing of knowledge about medications, symptoms, disease sequelae, etc. Perhaps there should be more than 1 Parkinson list of this type, so that you can pick and choose your priority emphasis. I have been told by PAN that they will update the information on their web page for increased political activism; I would appreciate receiving feedback on estimated percentages of each category covered by this list, e.g. 40% of postings deal with political matters. (Ideally, I would like to see at least 40% addressing political issues.)
