This and his unbreakable habit of talking while eating so that he frequently chokes makes meals oh, so interesting. I have been making my dad a blender drink every day of apple juice, frozen fruit and the best predigested protein powder on the market. (Protein does not seem to negatively affect him, especially this easily absorbed form.) Since he does not like to swallow pills and has too many to down already, I put various other nutrients designed especially for his PD and emphysema into the blender in powder form. Buzz it, stick in two straws and, boy does he suck! <g> The other two meals are "real" food (identifiable as veggies, grains, fruits, etc., but really just different packages of chemicals from what goes into the blender).
