Always wanted to take a cruise on a small Explorer type ship, so over a week-end did it. Flew from Medford, Ore. to Juneau, then onto cruise ship and floated back to Seattle. Everyone very pleasant and helpful. Gord was exhausted by the time we got to Juneau so did little. Did no tours, but walked around ourselves, in Skagway, Haines, Sitka, Ketchikan. Had naturalist on board for Misty Fiyord section and the captain "Parked" his ship for two hours at the Sawyer Glacier in Tracy Arm, which must be one of the most beautiful views in the world. They said casual clothes and they meant it. In Skagway decided to take the ship wheelchair and off we went. Promptly got stuck in railroad tracks, bit street sweeper stops and young man comes to the rescue. (He was from Baker, Oregon). Onto Visitor's Center, saw film on Klondike by then all the meds were working fine and Gord pushed the wheelchair back--Yes, I did consider riding back myself, but shouldn't we behave in public?? (:D
