Hi Jim, I am sorry that you feel that I have been 'piling' on Walter, and that my responses have become strident. I am particularily sorry that you feel I am contributing to driving Walter off the list when I have specifically asked him, in an earlier posting, to stay with the list. In my most recent posting I ask him to develop his arguments, which surely implies an invitation to remain. Fortunately Walter appears to be weathering the storm and is still with us as I hope he will be for as long as he cares to be. I have read with interest Walter's response to your posting, in which he speaks of our mutual respect and trust. He also makes the point that we still have areas of disagreement. I happily endorse his comments and add that I think we are both looking forward to a frank exchange of views (probably off list to spare the rest of you). Jim - you suggest that I apply my own philosophy - Live and let live. I have never interpreted that to mean ignore. I have no difficulty arguing with someone's opinion while respecting their right to hold that opinion. However, true to my interpretation of live and let live, I would not presume to tell anyone to keep their opinions to themselves. This appears not to be a problem you have, or am I misinterpreting your instruction to me to back off. PD joins us- it doesn't clone us- there will always be differences of opinion - I see it as sign of health - and I intend to stay healthy. I hope you (and Walter) stay healthy too. Dennis. ++++++++++++++++++++ Dennis Greene 47/10 [log in to unmask] ++++++++++++++++++++
