Jerry, an acquaintance of mine and a WWII veteran, told me he goes to a VA
hospital for prescription medicines, where he gets them very cheaply. [$2
rings a bell.]. Initially, he had to set up an appt. with a doctor there,
and this required a mutliple-hour wait in the waiting room.

When Jerry was taking a particular chemo-therapy for cancer, however, the
VA hospital said they didn't carry that drug in their pharmacy. I was
especially interested because my father is also a veteran and was once
prescribed a hugely expensive chemotherapy drug. [As it turned out, my
father's oncologist decided on another route..so the expensive drug wasn't
part of the treatment, after all.]
