Hi-went to a Regional Parkinson meeting today and the nausea from sinemet was discussed. The word sinemet means 'without emesis' meaning 'without vomiting'. The ND speaking said the secret lies within starting very gradual. A man 43/10 related he had so much nausea on beginning that it took about a third of the recommended dosage for 3 days then gradually added until up to the required dosage. It seems the levodopa given prior to sinemet was without the carbadopa hench the nausea which has inproved with sinemet (carbadopa/levadopa).
