I am 56 years old and about a year and a half ago I went to a neurologist to
find the cause of a slight tremor in my right arm and leg. I suspected I had
PD and the doctor confirmed it. He recommended taking Sentimet but I had
read where it loses its effectiveness over the years. For this reason I told
the doctor I preferred not to take any medication until I could not continue
doing things I enjoy, such as tennis and golf. I haven't seen the doctor
since my initial visit. The tremors are slightly worse but still are not a
problem. Lately though I've been wondering if there are any advantages to
taking the medication. Could taking medication slow the process down, for
example? Thanks for any information you may have.
