When I visited Linda Hayes in Canada, in the first two weeks of may
1995, I heared about the list and about Barbara Patterson. We met for the
first time at a wellcome party at Linda and Al's place. We -Linda and me-
visited the place where "the List" was made. I remember that I was very
impressed by the strength the of lists' letters. And of course the positiv
attitude of the contributors.

>2. When did you first join the Parkinsn List?

I joined the list after I returned to Holland : july 1, 1995

>3. What reason(s) did you have for joining the Parkinsn List?

The information. The human contacts. The support.

I could stop here, but I like to add some comments.

April 27, 1995, I founded the "Parkinson Information Bank International".
The hunger for information in any form, in any way and in any subject, made
me search all over the world for info. I wanted to share the info with
everyone interested. One of the sources is the "List". Ida Kamphuis makes
abstracts -in dutch- for a couple of ppl in holland, who don't have the time
(n)or the possibility to connect to the net. No time to read about 30 - 50
msges a day. I put these abstracts on PIBI's homepage.
Besides the information, are the human contact and the support two very good
reasons to join this list. As well as giving as receiving, this aspect is
one of the most important reasons to join this list.
