I assume you recognize that the medications come in different strengths and
that the CR contains greater amounts of levadopa and carbidoba. (Check the
strength).

Barbara takes both. The straight Sinemet is used to give sort of a "kick
start" in the morning since it is absorbed faster, while the CR is supposed
to carry through for longer periods of time, although you are correct when
you say it does not kick in as fast.  What Barbara does is take a Straight
Sinemet about 30 minutes before the CR.
