Yes New England has one of the strongest grassroots programs coordinated by Charlie Richards of MA. Another of our strongest programs is NJ where Barbara Schirloff has done a marvelous job. Janet Clements, I look forward to meeting you some day as I have Barbara. Elliott Haynes is a unique individual with a unique approach of attempting to get all the citizens of Jeffords home town of Shrewsbury to sign a petition in support of the Udall Bill. The failure in communications is the result of too few people trying to do too many things. We are truly a grassroots effort not a well oiled machine and we may bump into one another occasionally. But, don't let that discourage you. The most important thing is to BUMP into our legislators and get this bill passed. We are suffering growing pains. Thats a good sign. I remember when there were so few advocates that no one had to be concerned about who might be active elsewhere. There wasn't anyone. Hopefully, we are entering the home stretch toward getting this bill passed, we have the national PD organizations working together (although obviously not communicating well enough yet). To Janice keep up the pressure on Jeffords until he not only cosponsors but champions our cause. To Barbara keep working the internet trying to root out yet one more advocate. To anyone who sees two people going after the same target, two is better than none. Be patient with our fellow advocates and impatient with our legislators. TRY TO GET AS MANY PEOPLE TO DC JULY 13-15 FOR THE POLICY FORUM. WE NEED TO MAKE OUR PRESENCE FELT SO THAT CONGRESS SEES THAT WE WON'T BE DENIED. Jim Cordy Pittsburgh [log in to unmask]
