Debby,

I am also about your age (39/17) and the Red Cross absolutely loves me
(and/or my blood). Whenever the specified period between donations
expires (I'm unsure what lenght of time it actually is), I can expect a
call that week. I have been very clear that I have PD, they check what
my meds are and then get me on a table to donate valuable blood. It is
one of the easiest charitable things for me to do. I believe that it is
the meds that the Red Cross is concerned about and not the PD (per se).
I am on Sinemet CR (25/100 mg), 2x and Eldepryl (5 mg), 2x daily. I
think a quick call to the Red Cross regarding your meds will have you in
there in no time.

I echo the statements of others, No one is worthless! And your
willingness to aid persons unknown is proof of that.

Hang in there,
Terry Brennan

Just wondering - is it possible to donate blood while taking parkinson's
medication? I've been meaning to start donating on a regular basis (to
hopefully find something of value I can do - sometimes pd makes me feel
sort
of worthless.) Thanks for any info.
