John, I guess we all have our areas of expertise, but what excuse is there for simple home appliances used by average, non-technically trained people, to be so complicated! Also the instruction books should be excellent, and easy to read, it only costs pennies to reproduce them, once the original writing is done. How many people have the time to learn complicated procedures when they just want to open a can or make a can of coffee! Ken B
