Mary, My mother's breathing difficulty has come and gone (as it has in the past). She thinks she has a bug because my father and others are feeling a bit "off" and dizzy. I don't know what to make of the difficulty breathing. What I'm wondering is -- is this possibly due to PD? I don't have any defense for my belief that it's the drugs. I must say my mother isn't panicking about it. She's going out when she can. Her doctor who left made it clear that she could reach him anytime in Florida; unfortunately, he isn't around until after the July 4 holiday. He gave her the name of his replacement, who called her today, but offered little information, saying he hadn't seen her yet. It's frustrating because she is has an appointment with a specialist closer to home, but the earliest appointment he has is in Sept. I'm hoping she can consult with the Florida doctor until Sept. Good luck with your mother, and thanks. Debbie White [log in to unmask] > Debbie - > > my mother also complains often about difficulty breathing. Her doctors seem to consider this part of an anxiety problem and medicate accordingly. Sometimes she can be distracted (i.e. we can sometimes distract her -- she doesn't WANT to be distracted and doesn't try to help herself :( but that's probably the depression, too) -- a snack can be useful. If the chain isn't broken somehow, it's a long downward spiral -- I can't breathe, therefore I can't talk, what's the matter with me, why doesn't someone do something to help me ..... Myself, I think it's a combination of the PD, the meds, and personality. > > Has your mother's relocating doctor referred his patients to a replacement, or has he left them to fend for themselves??? > > Mary > cg for mom Louise 75/6
