Charlie,

Kudos for dealing with conspiracy theory  and anti-scientific nuts on their
own turf.  If any thing is certain in this life, it is that there is no
human evil conspiracy pulling strings on sweet little innocent us.
Disorder, not order, is the hallmark of this life, and disorder is the
antithesis of conspiracies.  People who see malevolence in the increase of
entropy are strange indeed.

The ancients knew better, for example Job's assertion of his innocence and
Omar's observations,

Up from Earth's Center through the Seventh Gate
I rose, and on the Throne of Saturn sate,
And many Knots unravelled by the Road;
But not the Knot of Human Death and Fate.

For a real conspiracy try

'Tis all a Chequer-board of Night and Days
Where Destiny with Men for Pieces plays:
Hither and thither moves and mates, and slays,
And one by one back in the Closet lays.

or

The Moving Finger writes: and having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
