Probably.  I am fortunate in that I can pay an annual fee to cover all drugs
I need so cost is not a consideration.

However, standard and CR formulations each have their own advantages and
disadvantages and it may well be that more people get on better with the
standard.

Standard: works more quickly and can kick start, is cheaper and if you get
nausea some people say it is not so bad as with CR.

CR: A more sustained release, less tablets to take, not QUITE so affected by
food, but dearer and the controlled release action is sometimes not so good
at switching on.

That is as I see it "off the cuff" - excuse me if I have missed some points.
Frankly, I suspect that people end up with whatever their Neuro believes in
at the time.  When I stumbled out from my Neuro's office following diagnosis
nearly 4 years ago, Sinemet was simply a yellow tablet that would "make me
better".
