There have been several recent letters regarding St. John's Wort and
GH3. In the June issue of Energy Times, a health magazine, a letter
to the editor about St. John's Wort asks, among other things, if SJW
is a MAO inhibitor. The editor replies that it is, but then says
"the problem with combining SJW...is that a weaker MAO inhibitor may
block a stronger one from reaching the monoamine oxidase enzyme, thus
reducing the effectiveness of the stronger inhibitor." It would seem
that any PWP taking deprenyl should not even think of adding St.
John's Wort or GH3 (also a MAO inhibitor) to their regimen.
