Heather Elizabeth (or Billy)

Please clear up for me and I suspect others what do you like to be
called. Is Billy a nickname or just the name of the account? We have
been writing back and forth for weeks and I am still confused about your
name.

Thanks

Now to partially disagree with you again (sorry- I feel like I am
picking on you but it seems to me that this is the central point of our
disagreement). The mind is indeed powerful and can do much. Attitude
is crucial in our adaptation to our PD. I think however that denial
that we have the illness is counter-productive. Rather I subscribe to
the idea put forth by Wendy that I am not dying of PD I am living with
it. To face the enemy head-on is more likely to produce positive
results than playing ostrich. Denying that you have the illness may
briefly decrease anxiety. If you are not sure get other independent
opinions but if several trained neurologists all come to the same
conclusion then further denial interferes with proper treatment or even
getting yourself educated about treatment options- even if you choose
to get no treatment for a time.

You positions have an internal consistency- if you don't really have an
illness or the illness doesn't exist then why spend money researching
its cure? Why take medications? - but then why even belong to a PD
list? I would like to invite you to really join this list as a pwp
LIVING WITH PD, LEARNING AS MUCH ABOUT THE ENEMY AS YOU CAN AND SHARING
STRATEGIES FOR LIVING.
